sigh

I find it interesting that 1) I manage to know enough to not sound stupid, 2) I am curious enough to know what to do and 3) smart enough to know that sometimes it has multiple applications.

Regarding xkcd

oh yeah, and I forgot to add, 4) (not so) humble enough to know I am probably missing almost all of it.

a strange fascination with my nose

365/15 - aqualine nose, originally uploaded by Blair Necessities.

yes, I have always been partial to it.

My life in six words

I have been enjoying this blog for quite some time, even before I realized that she had written a book and it was being published and such...
I got hooked; she is so much I am not not (she adores fashion) and some of what I am (a foodie of sorts) and then there are those moments when you read the words someone else wrote and you totally get "it" whatever it may be...
Anyway, she is in this new book called "Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure" edited by SMITH Mag’s Larry Smith and Rachel Fershleiser.

Her six word memoir is: weird quiet girl fading from view…

Mine: Well traveled girl, looking for home.

What is yours?

Three random "foodie" admissions

I hate matcha... which is apparently the new manna of the gods in the foodie realm.

I prefer corn syrup on my pancakes, comes from not having access to maple syrup (and plenty of corn syrup) while growing up.

I am not fond of whipped cream frosting, give me a good buttercream please.

lock down

Today the cities that make up most of the central valley area where I live, decided to lock down my neighborhood so I would be forced to watch thousands of people could run by my house... yeah, a marathon.

I used the opportunity to take down my Christmas stuff.

TMI... almost

One should never eat too much cabbage, and that is hard to do with a house full of Austrians living with you making the aforementioned cabbage in all sorts of scrumptious ways... on a near daily basis.

At least it isn't herring (may my Norwegian ancestors either forgive or ignore that last remark).

Three random admissions

In the last four months, I have seen two important men in my life... I am referring to two to whom I am not related to, neither to whom I am married to, nor a parent of...

I wish I had it in me to do this, and complete it.

I hate idle chatter, but I don't usually mind listening to gossip.

blog + evolution = blogolution?

e.g. The failure (refusal) to replicate a meme, which happens often enough... hmphlol

coffee

I don't care what you think*, but, it really sucks when you are awake before the automatic coffee maker has finished brewing.

*Actually, I do care what you all think... strangely enough.
