with the sleeves of his tight black T-shirt
rolled up to show us who he was,
he is only another old man, picking up
broken tools and putting them back,
his heart gone soft and blue with stories.

My favourite line is...
This is how you live when you have a cold heart.
As I do: in shadows, trailing over cool rock,
under the great maple trees.

NINE Muses
So, if we take a leap of imagination and could wish ourselves to be one of the nine muses, which would you want to be?
At this moment I might pick Calliope, if only because I am far from eloquent and it seems the most useful, though that might be said of Urania as well.
Calliope (epic poetry and eloquence)
Euterpe (music and lyric poetry)
Erato (love poetry)
Polyhymnia (oratory or sacred poetry)
Clio (history)
Melpomene (tragedy)
Thalia (comedy)
Terpsichore (choral song and dance)
Urania (astronomy).

Randomly... after we passed the cemetery my grandfather is buried in.
Squink: "Kids can die by guns or old age".
My favourite line is....
Where do dreams come from? Do they
sneak in through torn screens at night
to light on the arm like mosquitoes?
