When we start solids, we not only go slowly as to what we introduce, but also slowly as to how often. Sometimes either because I forget or because the kidlet isn't much interested, we skip a day or two here and there. Still, once you start, they do get going with it and pretty soon he won't be wanting to nurse as much.
You'll get through it though. Don't wean just because it feels overwhelming right now. Tomorrow is another day and it might just be better. :) This too shall pass.
Jordana - thank you so much for the infomration. I have never been as frustrated as I was this past weekend; what with an inconsolable son and sore breasts. I will most likely forget to give solids again for a while, but it is nice to know it is ok if it is not on a set schedule... I could not find anything about feeding solids in any of the books I had or on line for that matter (at least anything that made sense to me), and I was so tired and sore and heartbroken (over the Squink being so squirrely) that I could not even have told you my left from my right... Thankfully, today is a much better day! He woke up again in a good mood, and I am at work, so I don't feel like my only recourse is to let him latch on and the soreness has already waned some. Sadly, sometimes pumping is so much easier.
Your comment is awaiting moderation, it was just easier to go this route than to have those insane word verification boxes that are shockingly hard to read!
It should show up in the comments shortly, thank you for commenting!
Since I still know almost nothing about babies, I'll go with some encouragement instead. GO BLAIR AND JOSEF!!!
